Alex Donnachie recently set up this minty fresh ride, the new white parts look great on the new ‘minted’ colourway ALVX. Kriss Kyle Bike Check

With the new 2018 frames and parts dropping worldwide right now the team have been putting together fresh setups. First up for a bike check with the new colourways is Kriss Kyle who dropped by the BSD HQ on a chilly winter morning last week to build up a suitably frosty coloured Passenger setup. Here’s a look at what he’s running on his new bike…

A FEW WORDS FROM KRISS ABOUT HIS SETUP:

“Stoked to be riding my 2018 BSD Passenger. I couldn’t be anymore happy with how it looks and feels! I paired black parts with the new transatlantic blue colour frame and added white tyres to give it a bit of pop and it really stands out! We changed the height of the head tube so you don’t need to run as many spacers in there. For me the height feels perfect for the stuff I like to do and it looks that extra bit sexier! Also stoked to show off my signature Flight Seat which is new for 2018. As I like a slim seat I wanted something that looked classic, keeping it sleek and simple with a little bit of steeze. I love the Kevlar corners, it makes the seat that extra bit tougher and gives it that extra bit of flavour! I’m over the moon with how it turned out, the seat looks good on any bike! Massive thanks to BSD for turning my dream bike into a reality every time!”

KRISS KYLE’S PASSENGER FRAME SETUP:

– FRAME: Transatlantic blue 20.8″ BSD Passenger frame
– BARS: Black BSD ‘OS’ Passenger bars
– GRIPS: Black BSD Passenger grips
– BAR ENDS: White BSD M-Caps
– STEM: Black BSD ‘OS’ Stacked stem
– HEADSET: BSD Integrated
– FORKS: Black BSD V2 Acid forks
– SPROCKET: Black BSD Superlite 28t
– CRANKS: Black BSD Substance XL cranks 165mm
– PEDALS: Black BSD Safari Pedals
– CHAIN: BSD 1991 halflink chain
– REAR HUB: Black BSD Back Street Pro female hub
– REAR TIRE: White BSD Donnastreet 2.4″ tire
– REAR RIM: Black BSD NASA rim
– FRONT HUB: Black BSD Front Street Pro hub
– FRONT TIRE: White BSD Donnastreet 2.4″ tire
– FRONT RIM: Black BSD NASA rim
– SEAT: Black BSD Flight seat
– SEAT POST: Black BSD Blitzed post

Dan Paley Soulja Bike Check

Dan Paley is up in Glasgow right now filming a few final things for a video that we’ll be dropping soon. Here’s a look at the Soulja setup Dan is running, shot on our last team trip to Madrid a few weeks ago. Dan set his bike up with the brand new Levelled stem in OS 1″ size and has been riding the new Kevlar bead foldable Donnastreet tire for a while now. Also on his setup is Dan’s new signature Soulja seat in the ‘urban camo’ colourway which has just hit shops. Check out the photos of what Dan’s running below as well as a few words from him about his bike…

DAN PALEY’S SOULJA FRAME SETUP:

– FRAME: Storm blue 20.6″ BSD Soulja frame
– BARS: Stainless BSD OS 1″ Zingbars

– FRONT TIRE: Black BSD Donnastreet 2.3″ folding tire
– FRONT RIM: Raw BSD NASA rim
– PEGS: BSD RudeTube LT pegs
– SEAT: Urban camo BSD Soulja seat
– SEAT POST: Black BSD Blitzed post

A FEW WORDS FROM DAN ABOUT HIS SETUP:

“I’m not usually one to switch between different parts or sizes as I like to stick to what I know but this time I’ve pushed the boat out and changed a few things and couldn’t be happier how my bike feels! I’ve gone for a smaller frame this time (20.6″), shorter offset Jonesin’ forks (22mm) and the new Levelled stem with OS 1″ Zingbars, which grips like a beast. All in all it’s made this bike feel more responsive without making it feel too small. I’m also running the new Donnastreet tires and my Soulja mid seat which came out a couple weeks ago and I’m stoked how that’s looking too! Everything else is BSD tried and tested so it’s ready for a rippin!”.

A FEW WORDS FROM CHAZ ABOUT HIS SETUP:

” If my bike doesn’t feel solid then neither do I, all the parts on this thing work so harmoniously that it bounces like a basketball. I need my bike to look good or I’m not going to want to ride it. For me it doesn’t get much better than the stainless Passenger V3 with all black parts. Every time I see it makes me want to pick it up and go ride. I go for less is more with my setup, no pegs and no brakes makes you look at spots and set ups differently and I like that. Some big bars and a few inches of seat post showing and we are good to go!”

I’m always saying that but it’s always true. Haha! As usual it rides like an absolute dream! I’ve been riding the Source Park and the new Donnastreet tire is working out great for carving the bowls. This one also has the new OS bars and stem with 1” clamp which haven’t slipped once and I feel they look great on the bike being a little beefier when looking down. All in all I’m gonna say this is the best looking/feeling bike I have had! “

Shot a photo of the Sahara desert when I was on a camel safari last year in Africa and now that sand is one of my frame colors. Can’t ask for much more than that…”

Look out for a Safari frame promo video dropping later in the spring and in the meantime have a look back at Reed’s ridiculous section from our recent Transmission DVD…

Alex D Bike Check

Alex Donnachie headed out to Malaga a few weeks back to catch some sun and start filming for an X Games RealBMX video part that will be out this summer. We grabbed a bike check while there and this is the first look at Alex’s new signature tire, the Donnastreet. We’ve designed this tyre with street riding in mind with a smooth sidewall to help when grinding and a simple stylish tread pattern for fast rolling and lots of grip. Look out for the Donnastreet tire available in shops from mid April onwards…

Alex Donnachie’s BSD ALVX frame setup:

– FRAME: Tangfastic orange BSD ALVX 20.6″ frame
– BARS: Black BSD Zingbars
– GRIPS: Black BSD Paley Slims
– STEM: Black BSD Stacked stem

– FRONT RIM: Black BSD NASA rim
– PEGS: BSD Rude Tubes
– SEAT: Black BSD mid Acid seat
– SEAT POST: Black BSD Blitzed post

A FEW WORDS FROM ALEX ABOUT HIS SETUP:
“For this year I went with a brighter colour for the ALVX frame for something a bit different, I am pleased with how it came out. Also on this bike I am running the new Donnastreet tyres with a tread that is smoother for more grip while riding and also slides better on the sidewall while grinding to make those slow grinds faster…”
